Aretha - The Mentee

Aretha was on assignment in Singapore giving her the opportunity to work and live in Asia. She is now back in Australia and is part of our mentoring program.

What did you learn from your experience in Asia?
Working and living in Asia was a fantastic experience. It gave me the opportunity to learn about cultural differences and how to respect and succeed in another market. The best thing about Singapore was the fantastic variety of great food.

How important has the firm’s Mentoring Program been for your career at Jones Lang LaSalle?
I want to be the best that I can be and in order to do that I need to learn from others. A mentor is a role model, a motivator and a counselor; what a great opportunity for me, it is like having my own personal (career) trainer.

What is the best part of your job?
I really enjoy managing people, I enjoy the interaction and I try to inspire my staff to be the best that they can be (as I want to be for myself).
