Andrew – The Long Timer

What keeps you motivated?
I love my job! I know it sounds really corny, but I enjoy getting up in the morning and coming into work. I enjoy the company of my colleagues, the camaraderie and team-work. I’m surrounded by 20 other leasing executives wanting to ensure that they’re successful in their chosen career.

That’s what gets me up in the morning – working with people that I like.

How has the firm supported your career?
They’ve helped me enormously over the years in self-development. Seniors with the organization are always willing to offer guidance and mentoring, you can always call on someone to help. The company has taken away road blocks and is always willing to help and support career development. I put in, they put in - it’s a good working relationship.

What’s the most exciting thing you have done at Jones Lang LaSalle?
Overseeing the running of the commercial leasing division during the course of 2005/06 when we had a record-breaking year. The highlight was being part of the division that had the best year financially since the late 80s. In New South Wales we’re going to crack that record again in 2007.

What is your dream job?
I’m doing it. Working with a great team, who want to succeed and become leaders.

It would also be good to have a job where I can play golf at least three times a week – get my handicap down to sub 10.
